WELCOME TO
Centering the voices and experiences of scholars, practitioners, and students of color in gifted education.
In April 2023 - The BEE Project partnered with Huston-Tillotson University to present the inaugural Gifted in Color Conference
We gathered for three days on the campus of Austin’s only historically Black institution as we unpacked how power and privilege impact who gets to be brilliant in the United States – and what we can do to change the narrative.

Building an Inclusive Framework in Gifted Education
The Gifted in Color Conference is designed to create a space where educators from across the country who are passionate about meeting the unique needs of gifted and talented students of color can share their experiences, insights, and best practices, as well as engage in meaningful conversations about how to better serve under-represented population.
And just as important as being a space for professional networking and learning - we are also very intentional about creating plenty of wellness, health and just plain fun activations designed to address your holistic needs.

INTRODUCING OUR SUMMER LEARNING SERIES
We are excited to build on the momentum of the inaugural Gifted in Color conference with our summer learning series, now offered in two tracks.
Each session will consist of six hours of synchronous virtual learning, plus an additional six hours of asynchronous activities to help you build a more equitable gifted program.
Choose from our teacher track or leader track with optional pre-session equity audit workshops.
